Germany has long been one of the top study destinations for Indian students. The numbers show how strong this interest has become. According to the latest figures cited in a DAAD release, 69,816 Indian students were enrolled in Germany in the Winter Semester 2025-26, making Indians the largest group of international students in the country.
But before reaching a German University, Indian students have to go through an important process known as APS (Akademische Prüfstelle), or the Academic Evaluation Centre. APS India is part of the Science Section of the German Embassy in New Delhi and is responsible for verifying the academic documents and educational qualifications issued by Indian institutions.
