The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), managed by the College Board, serves the purpose of getting admission to colleges abroad to study an undergraduate programme. The results of this test show how prepared a student is for college. It was previously a pencil-paper exam, but the latest version has been introduced, which is called Digital SAT Exam. Continue reading this blog to explore more information about this exam, why it is important, and how to nail a good score.

Why Should You Take the Exam?

The Digital SAT exam in India is a popular exam to take if a student is planning to study abroad. With this score, one can easily begin his/her journey of studying any undergraduate course at universities located in the United States, Canada, UK and Singapore.  It also helps students get a scholarship which makes it easier to pay the college tuition fees. Not only throughout the course but these exam scores are also taken into consideration while you apply for certain jobs. The exam duration is 2 hours and 14 minutes. A student who has passed grade 12 can appear for the SAT exam.

New Pattern of SAT

Let us first look at the features of the new Digital SAT Exam 2023:

  • The exam focuses on ‘students' access to technology.
  • For the exam, students will use a laptop or a tablet. On the exam day, a student who doesn't have any of these gadgets will be provided with one.
  • The reading passages will be shorter and cover varied topics.
  • Students will be allowed to use calculators for the math section.
  • The exam scores will be produced and delivered to students in just a few days.
  • If the internet connection is lost during the test, then students can restart where they left off, without losing any time or work.
  • Students will also have access to information about programmes and institutions for workforce training through the exam score reports.

This exam is a general test and consists of sections which gauge a candidate’s written, verbal, and mathematical skills. The second type of this test was a subject-oriented test which has been discontinued now.

Digital SAT Exam Eligibility

The exam has undergone several changes in test structure and curriculum since 1926. There are no specific requirements for the exam, however, these must be kept in mind:

  • There is no age limit for appearing for the exam.
  • The exam can be taken by students who are applying for graduation in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, and the U.K.
  • The exam is meant to be taken by students who are signing up for undergraduate courses.
