For years, studying abroad has been seen as a gateway to better opportunities, global exposure, and stronger career prospects. In fact, nearly 892,989 Indian students chose to study overseas before 2025. But today, that picture is beginning to change. Traditional study destinations are revising visa policies, tightening post-study work opportunities, and creating growing uncertainty for international students. This shift is not only changing where students choose to study, but also how they view foreign education itself.
Interestingly, the opening of overseas universities' campuses in India reflects the rise of transnational higher education models. What once required moving thousands of miles away can now be accessed much closer to home. Because of this, these campuses are increasingly emerging as a credible alternative.
