International Student Award 

The UNSW International Student Award has been started to celebrate the impact of international students. This award is open to all eligible students who are citizens of developing countries. Among the list of countries created by UNSW, Indian students are also eligible to apply for this scholarship for their undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

 

Value of the Award 

Award recipients will receive a 15% contribution toward their tuition fees when they start at UNSW in 2023. The award will be applied to the recipient’s record, and this will reduce their overall tuition fee liability. 

 

Award Eligibility 

To be eligible for this award, the applicant must meet the following criteria completely. Read on to know these criteria. 

  • Applicant must be an international student.
  • Applicant must hold citizenship of a country listed by UNSW and have proof of citizenship. 
  • Applicant must have an offer of admission for a new undergraduate or postgraduate
  • coursework degree at UNSW.
  • The Award is applicable to new students commencing in an eligible term where the Award is offered. 
  • Students who have completed an undergraduate degree at UNSW and are commencing a postgraduate program will be considered new students for the Award.

Award Application

To apply for this award, the applicant is required to submit a personal statement with a maximum limit of 500 words. In this statement, the applicant will have to state their reasons and purpose to study at UNSW. 

New applicants should upload their personal statements through the UNSW website along with their application.

Existing offer holders of this award should upload their personal statements via Apply Online. 

 

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for this award are quite simple. The applicant will be assessed on their admission application for UNSW and their ability to demonstrate academic merit, aptitude, and commitment towards the degree. 

 

Award Confirmation

Applicants will receive the award confirmation within two days of receiving the offer via email. Applicants who already have an admission offer will receive the award confirmation within two weeks of uploading their statement.

Getting the award doesn’t end the process, the university has the right to terminate this award if there are any discrepancies. Read the reasons for award termination. 

 

Award Termination

The reasons for award termination are

  •  The Award will be terminated if the recipient fails to enrol or withdraws their application.
  • The Award will be terminated if the recipient becomes a domestic student as per the Higher Education Support Act 2003. 
  • The Award will be terminated if the recipient fails to complete their program as per the timeframe indicated in their Certificate of Enrolment (CoE)
  • The Award will be terminated if the recipient is found to be guilty of serious misconduct.
  • The Award will be terminated if the recipient has provided false or misleading information in the application.
