People's mental images of Australia often include kangaroos, koalas, azure waters, and vast stretches of outback vegetation. What people usually associate with Australia is only the beginning of what this country offers. Australia's welcoming culture, low cost of living, and top-notch educational system greatly attracts international students.

7 Australian Universities rank among the World’s Top 100. Not just this, the quality of education and resources available to you as an international student are second to none, regardless of the program you pick.

The global recognition of the quality of the Australian schooling system has resulted in a significant demand for Australian university graduates. The government strictly controls this system to ensure the country's reputation for quality education.

How do Australian Scholarships help International Students?

The cost of living in Australia is high. To help defray the costs of tuition and living expenses, all universities allow international students to work 40-hour per fortnight. However, some of the most coveted scholarships reduce the considerable chunk of expenditure required for studying in Australia. These scholarships can be granted by the Australian government or there can be university-specific scholarships as well.

In this article, we’ll get the required details about the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship applicable to the University of South Australia for Semester 1 - 2023.

University of South Australia: Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship

The University of South Australia is offering the Vice Chancellor's International Excellence Scholarship, which is one of the most distinguished Study Abroad Scholarships offered in Australia. The Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship reduces the tuition fees by half for the duration of their degree or up to four years of full-time programs.

This scholarship will be awarded to 20 students at maximum in 2023—those who have applied to study at UniSA for a degree at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.

So, What is the Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship?

  • The student needs to be a prospective international student.
  • The student should be eligible to study in Australia to qualify for the scholarship.
  • The student applying must not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary.
  • The student must complete the necessary coursework for the degree you are applying for.
  • The student must have achieved a grade point average equivalent to a high distinction at UniSA.
  • The student must communicate in English at a sufficient level to enter the degree program.
  • The student will be informed of the outcome of the scholarship application and the academic degree evaluation if the student satisfies the qualifying criteria and submits the required application. What are the Scholarship Conditions?

  • To qualify for this scholarship, students must enroll full-time at one of UniSA's South Australian campuses.
  • Scholarship payments are contingent on winners maintaining a GPA of 5.0 or above.
  • The maximum time a student can receive scholarship funds is four years.
  • If the recipient's cumulative GPA drops below 5.0, the 50% discount will not be applied to the subsequent invoice. If the recipient's GPA improves to 5.0 or higher, the deal will be reinstated beginning with the following bill.
  • Scholarship awards (equal to 50% of tuition costs) will be applied as a credit against the student contribution (tuition fee) invoice of the successful applicant at the start of the appropriate academic year.
  • It is understood that the scholarship does not entitle the student to any form of credit, RPL, or Advanced Standing (whether at the time of the offer or subsequently)
