The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is a standardized test designed to prepare students for the SAT. It's administered by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). The test helps students familiarize themselves with the format and types of questions, identify areas for improvement, and potentially qualify for National Merit Scholarships. This is mostly for students of 8th,9th and 10th Standard.
The PSAT serves as a precursor to the SAT, helping students prepare for the actual test.
It measures college readiness and provides practice for the SAT
The test results of junior pupils are collected and compared to those from other schools to determine eligibility for scholarships
