The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication.

Who should take IELTS?

i) Academic IELTS :- If you are applying for higher education or professional registration in English speaking countries.
ii) General IELTS :- If you are looking to migrate to Australia, Canada or the UK.

How many times can you take IELTS?

You can appear for IELTS test as many times as required. It is conducted 4 -5 times every month. The test score is valid for 2 years.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test used to measure the English language proficiency of non-native speakers wishing to enrol in English-speaking countries.

Who should take TOEFL?

TOEFL is divided into three types:-
Paper-based TOEFL:- The paper-based TOEFL exam evaluates listening comprehension, reading comprehension and grammar.
Computer-based TOEFL: - This has four parts namely listening, grammar, reading and writing. The listening comprehension and grammar tests are adaptive.
Internet-based TOEFL: - The internet-based test includes four sections listening, speaking, reading and writing. Some questions might require you to combine more than one skill to answer the questions.

How many times can you take TOEFL?

You can take the test any number of times but you cannot take the test more than once in a 12-day period. In case you already have an appointment, you can register after the 12 day period for your next test.

PTE is an English language test aimed at non-native English speakers who want to study abroad. It tests Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Who should take PTE?

There are two types of PTE exams.
PTE Academic: - It is a computer-based English language test aimed at non-native English speakers who want to study abroad.
PTE General: - This test is used to assess the English language proficiency and consists of a written paper and an interview.

How many times can you take PTE?

You can appear for PTE any number of times. However, you must receive the score of your previous test before applying for the next test.

ACT is one of the standardized test for high school achievement and college admission in the USA.(Other is SAT).

Who should take ACT?

If you're an international student looking to attend a U.S. undergraduate school, you will need to take either the ACT or the SAT.

How many times can you take ACT?

You can take the ACT as many number of times as you want.

Graduate Management Admission Test is a computer adaptive test that intends to assess your analytical, writing, verbal, quantitative and reading skills. It is used to while getting enrolled in graduate management program like MBA.

Who should take GMAT?

Students who want to apply to management programs like MBA can appear for GMAT.

How many times can you take GMAT?

You can appear for GMAT for up to 5 times in any 12-month period. However, you cannot apply more than once in any 16-day period.


Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is the most commonly required admission test for grad school. It is used to assess your critical thinking, analytical writing, quantitative reasoning and verbal reasoning.

Who should take GRE?

Students applying to graduate schools or business schools in the US can take GRE.

How many times can you take GRE?

The GRE can be taken once in every 21 days for up to five times within any continuous 12 month period.

SAT is one of the standardized college admissions tests in the USA (The other is ACT). It is taken by students seeking admission at undergraduate level in the USA. The SAT test evaluates the written, verbal and mathematical skills of the candidates.

Who should take SAT?

Students who are aspiring to pursue their undergraduate degree from USA should take SAT

How many times can you take SAT?

You can take the SAT as many number of times as required.
