The much-anticipated update regarding the UK’s Graduate Route Visa (Post Study Work Visa) is finally here, clearing the air of doubts for international students planning to study in this leading country for the upcoming academic year.

If you are considering to study in UK, then this news update is for you. Read ahead to know more!

Keeping up with the Migration Advisory Committee's (MAC) latest review and recommendation on the Graduate Route, UK’s Prime Minister Mr Rishi Sunak has decided to backtrack the restrictions to Graduate Route Visas. The UK Government’s official statement in this regard is expected to be released shortly.  But we can anticipate that international students may be allowed to stay back in the UK for up to 2 years after completing their Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degrees and for 3 years for PhD and other Doctoral Qualifications. Great news, isn’t it?

As per the latest updates, it is also expected that the Government will publicly announce a series of minor but significant changes to its Post-Study Work Visa Route. Like the English Language Proficiency Test will be mandatory for international students using the Graduate Visa Route to stay back in the UK.

With these changes, the Government intends to give the best opportunities to genuine international students and prevent any abuse of the Government’s policy.

So, if you are planning to study in the UK for the upcoming intakes, keep your hopes intact that there may be no major changes happening to the Graduate Visa Route and you can stay back in the country to gain adequate professional experience after pursuing your higher education.
