In response to the increasing demand from Indian students eager to pursue higher education in the USA, the US Consulate in Hyderabad has extended the student visa application period by two weeks, now available until August 2024. This extension is especially significant for the students from the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, where the USA remains the top choice for higher education.

The decision is a win for students who are aiming to start their higher study in US for the intake periods of Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. It ensures that those with later interview dates can still secure their visas on time. This move addresses a previous issue where 10,000 F1 visa slots, released just after midnight of May 19^th were snapped up within minutes, leaving many students in a lurch. But now, additional appointment slots for June, July, and August will be made available for Indian aspirants.
