Life at The University of Adelaide College 

The key difference between Extended and Standard courses is their duration. For Master’s, extended courses run for 11 months, and standard courses run either 9 months. For Bachelor’s, extended courses last 15 months, while standard courses are 12 months long. 

1. What is the difference between Extended and Standard courses?

Pathway courses are designed for students who do not meet the direct entry requirements of the university. For Master’s, the Pre-Master’s Program allows entry into the first year of a Master’s degree. For Bachelor’s, the Degree Transfer Program enables entry into the second year of a Bachelor's Degree.

2. How do pathway courses support progression to the University of Adelaide?

To advance to the next level at the University of Adelaide, students must meet the academic criteria of their program, including achieving at least 50% in grades, passing all required subjects, and meeting attendance and English proficiency requirements as outlined in the course guidelines.

The major intakes offer entry to most programs at the college, which include Foundation Programs and Degree Transfer Programs.

These intakes are smaller, with limited course offerings, mainly Pre Master’s Programs.

Kaplan International College (CRICOS 03127E)

The University of Adelaide College, operated by Kaplan Higher Education Pty Ltd, offers pathway programs to the University of Adelaide. Previously known as Bradford College until 2016, it is located on Grenfell Street in Adelaide, South Australia. It has a student population of around 800 students from Australia and abroad. &nbsp;The college provides an excellent pathway to a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Adelaide. It is particularly for students who do not meet the university’s high school entry requirements or need specific subjects—such as Specialist Mathematics, Maths, or a science discipline—to qualify for their chosen degree. &nbsp;From January 1, 2026, these programs will transition to Adelaide University, a new institution formed by merging the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia (UniSA). &nbsp;The foundation studies and pathway programs are closely monitored to ensure they meet the academic standards needed for university admission. These programs offer a variety of subject choices, intakes, and learning experiences while studying in Australia.
