The University of South Australia (UniSA) has a rich history dating back over 150 years, with its origins rooted in the South Australian School of Art (1856), the Teacher Training Colleges (1876), and the School of Mines and Industries (1889). Intakes

UniSA attracts a high number of applications each year, reflecting its strong reputation and demand. Each student is on a unique path; therefore, the University of South Australia intakes offer flexibility. To ensure the best experience for students, UniSA has set two major intakes: February and July. 

These intakes are open for all popular study fields, including Business, Commerce, IT, Engineering, and Health Sciences, available at Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels. However, specific programs like the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) and Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) are only available in the February intake.

Cost to Study at UniSA

The University of South Australia offers application fee waiver to international students. The University of South Australia course fees vary by program, and students can check their course details for exact costs. Moreover, continuing international students pay tuition fees per Study Period based on the number of units they enroll in, rather than the full annual fee upfront.
 

Before starting a program at the University, students need to pay only 50% of the annual tuition fee and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for their visa duration. OSHC ensures access to medical services while studying in Australia. The University partners with Flywire and Convera, offering secure and flexible payment options to pay the tuition fees.

Scholarships

The University of South Australia welcomes high-achieving students from developing countries through the Australia Awards program, funded by the Australian government. Additionally, around 500 students are sponsored by their home Government, University, or Employer.
 

The University of South Australia Scholarships for International Students offer significant financial support, including up to 50% Tuition Fee Reduction for Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs. Admission Requirement

University of South Australia has specific admission requirements based on the level of study, and program. Specific English Language Requirements are also there. Students who meet the eligibility criteria can directly enrol in full-time degree programs. However, Students who do not meet the entry requirements for a UniSA degree can pursue a pathway program through partner institutions in Adelaide, South Australia. These programs provide an alternative route to University of South Australia admissions. Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor's degree from an Accredited Institution or an equivalent qualification. Specific programs may have additional academic prerequisites or require professional experience.

FAQs

The number of courses/subjects in a UniSA degree varies based on the program type and duration. A two-year Master’s degree includes approximately 16 courses/subjects (72 units), while a standard three-year Bachelor’s degree consists of around 24 courses/subjects (108 units).

Students are required to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) each semester. This fee supports various student-focused services, including social events, food and beverage options, sporting facilities, health and welfare services, career guidance, financial and insurance advice, student spaces, artistic programs, study workshops, and orientation activities.
