Intakes

Acadia University operates on a semester-based academic calendar, offering two primary intakes for Undergraduate programs: the September intake and the January intake. These Acadia University intakes provide two options for students to commence their studies at a time that aligns with their academic and personal arrangements. The course availability and application deadlines differ for both intakes.

The September intake is the primary admission period, encompassing a comprehensive range of Undergraduate programs across all faculties. Starting in the Fall semester, this intake aligns with the start of the academic year, offering a full suite of courses and campus activities.

The January intake serves as a secondary admission period, providing an opportunity for students who may have missed the September intake or prefer a later start. It allows students to begin their studies in the Winter semester. While the range of programs is slightly limited compared to the September intake, students still have access to quality education and resources.

Admission Requirements

Every academic intake, Acadia University welcomes international students from over 60 countries and offers a top-notch liberal education. The University evaluates each application individually, considering the diverse educational backgrounds of applicants through Academic Records, English Language Proficiency and Extracurricular activities.

✅ Applicants are required to have completed Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 60%, with no individual academic subject score falling below 50%.
✅ Certain programs may require the submission of additional documents, such as a Statement of Purpose and a Resume as part of the application process.

✅ IELTS Academic: An overall score of 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0 are required. 
✅ PTE Academic: An overall score of 61 with no section below 60 is required. 
✅ TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 90 with a minimum of 20 in each section is required. 
✅ Duolingo English Test: A minimum overall score of 115 is required. 

Acadia University, Canada Placements Overview

Acadia University's placement rate is commendable, with graduates securing employment within six months of graduation. The International Student Employment Program (ISEP) provides students with valuable work experiences that enhance their professional development. Students are expected to access and monitor their Acadia email accounts regularly to stay informed about important University updates. It is the student’s responsibility to read and respond to time-sensitive messages in a timely manner. Instructions on how to configure the email account and access additional Microsoft 365 resources are available on the official Acadia IT support page.

Students are advised to arrive only on their designated move-in day, as campus residences will officially open at 9:00 a.m. on that date. Early arrivals cannot be accommodated. For further details, students are encouraged to consult the Residence Life section on the University’s website.
