George Brown College, established in 1968, has three campuses in downtown Toronto: St. James, Casa Loma, and Waterfront. These campuses offer programs across various disciplines. The School of Design is housed in a 103,000-square-foot facility at Daniels Waterfront, featuring advanced labs for virtual and augmented reality, usability testing, and emerging technologies.

Intakes

There are 3 George Brown College Intakes for students to choose from, January, May and September. In these intakes, the university gives preference to complete applications and recommends that students follow the pre-application checklist to ensure a successful application. GBC offers tools to help students find out about the availability of the course. 
 

The university has 2 major intakes one in January and the other one in September. Compared to Post-Graduate Diploma courses, more Bachelors courses are available in the January intake. Whereas in September Intake fewer Post-Graduate Diploma and Bachelors courses are available.

The May Intake is the minor intake where only a limited number of courses at the Post-Graduate Diploma and Bachelors level are available.

Recipients of the George Brown College, Canada Scholarships  are required to adhere to specific eligibility conditions. Notably, students who have already been awarded a scholarship are ineligible to apply for additional funding. GBC offers a suite of services for students to make their experience of studying at the university better. They offer many services for students, like George Brown College Health Cover services, along with other services beyond academics to make their lives better.

 

The association offers services like clubs, events, health benefits, community care services, nutrition access programs, financial and legal services, academic support programs, and recreation facilities, along with other services.

The college offers a range of sports programs and recreation services to meet students' needs in an inclusive way. The athletics division offers services like fitness classes, personal training, varsity sports, First aid and CPR training, and athletic therapy, among others.

George Brown College has been supported and accredited by the government since 1967. The College is regulated by The Ministry of Colleges and Universities Act – R.R.O. 1990, Reg.771.

International students graduating from a post-secondary program may be eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) that is valid from 8 months to up to 3 years, depending on the duration of the academic program successfully completed.

There is no specific deadline for submitting the applications. The program closes automatically once filled. Since seats are fairly competitive, it is recommended that students apply well in advance.

Yes, George Brown College is on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) list of approved designated learning institutions (DLI).

They do not offer Master’s Degree Programs, but they do offer postgraduate certificates, which are specialized programs of 8-12 months focused on skills. Only universities in Canada offer Master’s Degrees.
