Academic Requirements

Niagara College has general admission requirements; however, each program may have its own specific criteria in addition to the standard guidelines. In general, applicants are required to show English Proficiency Test scores. Some programs may also have additional requirements such as specific prerequisite courses, pre-admission testing, portfolios, or auditions. Niagara College tuition fees cover the cost of program delivery and institutional services. In addition to tuition, students may also pay ancillary and program-specific material fees, which support non-academic services and specialized course needs. All fees need to be paid by the deadlines stated in the Letter of Acceptance. &nbsp;To make international payments easier, Niagara College has partnered with CIBC International Student Pay, offering students a faster, more affordable, and secure way to pay their fees. Once processed, payments are automatically updated in the student account, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for international students.&nbsp;

Life at Niagara College, Canada

Adjustments for scholarships and full payment discounts are made after the tenth day of classes in each academic term. It may take one to two weeks for the updated balance to reflect in the student’s account. Students are encouraged to monitor their accounts regularly and reach out to the finance team if the update is not visible by the end of the first month.

 1. How and when are tuition discounts or scholarships applied to a student’s account?

Yes, most programs are open to students between the ages of 16 and 20. However, for applicants interested in the Adult Dual Credit program, a minimum age of 21 is required.

2. Is there a specific age range required to apply for programs at Niagara College?

Tuition fee deadlines are outlined in the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and can also be checked through the MyNC Financials portal. For first-year students, missing the deadline may result in losing their program seat. Returning students who do not meet the deadline may face timetable restrictions, a late payment fee of CAD 150, and limited access to academic documents.

3. What are the payment deadlines, and what happens if a student misses them?

Niagara College’s Health, Wellness, and Accessibility Services department provides comprehensive support for students with disabilities or learning needs. The team includes Accessibility Consultants, Learning Strategists, and Adaptive Technologists who work closely with students to arrange tailored accommodations and ensure an inclusive academic experience.

4. Where can students request academic accommodations or accessibility support?

Niagara College offers three main intakes for international students. While many Colleges primarily focus on September and January, Niagara College is notable for also offering a May intake for various programs.

The January and September intakes are the major intakes, with most of the Undergraduate programs and only a few Postgraduate programs available.
