Overview

Formed in 1992 to address the need of Northern Ontario to provide a good student experience along with academic and research excellence, Nipissing University is a public university which has one main campus in the city of North Bay. The campus is situated between Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake, which is surrounded by various protected natural areas, forest parks, and historical sites. Some highlights of the campus are the RJS Student Athletic Centre, The Learning Library, Campus Trails, and Duchesnay Falls, among others. This indicates a varied campus life for students who choose to study at Nipissing University.
 

Nipissing University has 3 faculties namely the Faculty of Arts and Science, Schulich School of Education and Faculty of Education and Professional Studies. Within these faculties there are several schools and departments offering a wide range of programs. These include the School of Business, the School of Criminal Justice, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work.

Intakes

Nipissing gives out admission offers starting from January instead of making admission decisions in separate rounds. They make admission offers till June when the mid-term grades are received from the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre. They also give a detailed timeline of events in each intake for students to infer from. There are 2 major Nipissing University intakes for students to apply.

The January intake has few Graduate courses and but more than 40 Undergraduate courses for international students to apply.

The September intake has more Graduate and Undergraduate programs available compared to the January intake.

Cost to Study at Nipissing University, Canada

Admission Requirements

To get admission on the Undergraduate and Graduate level  at the Nipissing University, international students need to understand the admission requirements for their desired course. Nipissing University admission can be applied through the Nipissing University International Application portal.
 

International students who have studied a curriculum similar to the Ontario region can also apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Center (OUAC) for Undergraduate studies. Given below are the admission requirements for Indian students who want to study on the Graduate and Undergraduate level at the University.

✅ Students need a 4 Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with a minimum score of 71.2%

✅ PTE: Students need an overall score of 63 with a minimum module score of 60.

Students should expect to spend approximately 10 hours per week on study and preparation for each three-credit online course. For course-specific guidance, they may contact the course instructor.
