Programs extending across more than one academic year (September to August) are subject to the updated fee rates of the following year.&nbsp;International students should also budget for mandatory medical insurance, available through GuardMe. If a course is cancelled after payment has been made, students are entitled to a full refund of the tuition and fees paid for that program.

4. What happens if Northern Lights College cancels a course?

Yes, programs offered at NLC are eligible for Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), allowing students to gain valuable work experience after completing their studies.

Northern Lights College intakes are spread across three sessions—September, January, and May—allowing students to choose a start date that fits their academic goals. The Winter intake is ideal for those who wish to begin studies at the start of the calendar year. It includes 5 postgraduate and 9 undergraduate programs. The deadline for applications usually falls in the last week of September of the previous year.

The Summer intake provides a mid-year start option with 5 postgraduate and 9 undergraduate programs. Applications typically close by the last week of January.

Established in 1975, Northern Lights College (NLC) is a public institution located in Northern British Columbia, Canada. The college derives its name from the Aurora Borealis, a natural phenomenon frequently visible in the region. Over the years, NLC has expanded to include five campuses, with the main campus being Dawson Creek, and the other four, namely Fort St. John, Fort Nelson, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge. Along with these, there are two access centres in Atlin and Dease Lake.&nbsp;Today, the college serves more than 3,300 students, with approximately 25% representing the international student community. Students who choose to study at Northern Lights College, Canada, benefit from programs that combine academic learning with practical training. The Dawson Creek campus, for instance, houses a training tower used for high-angle rescue and the Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician program.&nbsp;NLC also operates specialized training centres in key fields such as oil and gas, clean energy technologies, and aircraft maintenance.
