Thompson Rivers University is located in Kamloops, British Columbia, has been delivering quality education since 1970, when it was founded as Cariboo College. Today, it stands as one of only six research Universities in British Columbia and is a proud member of Universities Canada, representing the country’s top public and private not-for-profit institutions. TRU’s diverse community includes over 4,500 international students from 106 countries and regions, making it a truly global campus. The University has two main campuses in Kamloops and Williams Lake, both situated on the traditional territory of the Secwepemc peoples. Intakes

Thompson Rivers University offers multiple intakes. Application deadlines for international students may vary depending on the intake season, specific program requirements, available capacity, and eligibility for pre-assessment.

The majority of Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs are offered during the January and September intakes, making these the primary admission periods for international students.

Admission Requirements

Thompson Rivers University has different admission criteria based on the level of study. Due to the high number of applications, TRU has introduced a pre-admission service for students from select nationalities. This complimentary service aims to provide clear program and admission information, speed up the application process, and offer applicants the chance to interact directly with recruitment representatives through real-time Zoom sessions. Indian students interested in applying for Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs can refer to the specific Thompson Rivers University admission requirements here. 

✅ Applicants need to hold a 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum score between 65% and 75%.
✅ For MBA programs: Candidates with less than 3 years of work experience require a minimum of 65% in their Bachelor's degree.
✅ Candidates with 3 or more years of professional experience may be considered with a minimum of 60%.

At Thompson Rivers University, not all final exams are offered in an online format. Students are encouraged to review the ‘Final Exam’ section on Moodle for course-specific information regarding exam delivery. Moreover, supplemental exams are usually not provided.

The MBA at TRU is offered as a general program without formal specializations. However, students do have the option to pursue a thesis or project component, which allows them to explore a specific area of interest in greater depth.

Once all required documents have been submitted, applicants can generally expect a response within four to six weeks. However, during peak periods, processing times may be slightly longer.

Yes, students can reschedule their exam if it has been booked through ProctorU. To make any changes, they need to log into their ProctorU account, go to the 'My Sessions' section, and select the 'Reschedule' option. It’s important to do this ahead of time to avoid any issues.
