Established in 1964, Trent University is situated in Peterborough, Ontario. Recognized consistently among Canada’s leading universities, it embraces the motto ‘nunc cognosco ex parte’, meaning ‘now I know in part’, reflecting a commitment to both the knowledge already gained and the pursuit of future discovery. The University operates two campuses: the primary Symons Campus located in Peterborough, Ontario, and the other campus situated in Durham within the Greater Toronto Area. The Symons Campus features five distinct colleges, each offering unique academic programs and various facilities. Scholarships Available

Trent University Scholarships are available for both Graduate and Undergraduate international students. Graduate students can apply for a range of awards, including entrance scholarships, government-funded programs, and scholarships supported by generous donors.
 

Scholarships for International Students at the Undergraduate level are generally awarded based on academic merit or a combination of strong academics, leadership qualities, and community engagement. Students receiving entrance scholarships may also qualify for an upgrade to the renewable portion if they achieve a higher term average during their studies at Trent.

Admission Requirements

Trent University Admission requirements for international students differ based on the level of study. The university recognizes a broad spectrum of academic qualifications from various countries.
 

All applicants must also meet the required level of English language proficiency. Those who do not fulfill the language criteria may be eligible for conditional admission through the Trent ESL: English for University program, which supports students in improving their academic English skills. For Indian Students, the eligibility criteria are specified here.

Applicants must hold a four-year Undergraduate Degree from a recognized institution. A minimum average of 77% (B+) or equivalent in the final two years of full-time study is required.

✅ IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0
✅  TOEFL iBT / Home Edition / Paper Edition: Minimum score of 93, including at least 22 in speaking and writing

✅ Applicants must have completed Standard X and XII, with at least 70% in the best four academic subjects, including English.
✅ Course-specific Requirements:

  • For business-related programs, applicants from the Commerce stream are not required to have Mathematics.
  • For nursing programs, English, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics must be included.
  •  For biomedical science, applicants need English, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and either Physics or Earth and Space Science.
