Overview

Established in 1785, the University of New Brunswick is the oldest English-language university in Canada. The university’s history is shaped by major events one such is the American Revolutionary War. With a motto of ‘Sapere Aude’, meaning ‘Dare to be Wise’, the university has a long legacy of discovery and innovation. It has 2 campuses in Fredericton and Saint John. Among these two, the Fredericton campus is the main campus, which is among the most beautiful campuses in the country with Gregorian architecture and a lush landscape.  Located on the banks of the Saint John River, Fredericton city is ranked as one of the best places to live in Canada.


The University has 10,000 students, with more than 800 international students. The University of New Brunswick is known for having 70% of all publicly funded research in the region. It attracts more than $55.67 million in external research funding and is the world leader in developing MRI technology. Scholarships Available

University of New Brunswick, Canada scholarships go over CAD 10 million annually. Students only need one application to apply for various scholarships. Students can apply for the University of New Brunswick entrance scholarships as well, but only until a certain deadline date after completing their program application.

Admission Requirements

The University of New Brunswick graduate admission requirements differ depending on the level of study. Apart from the requirements, there are certain norms students need to follow. Students need to submit an online application form and pay a non-refundable tuition deposit to confirm their admission.
 

This is as per their letter of acceptance. International students are advised to apply early, as the offer can be sent throughout the year before they close. The requirements for Master's and Bachelor's programs for this university applicable to Indian students are specified here.

 

✅ Students need a 4-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 75%. 
✅ Some programs require work experience of at least 2 years.
✅ Students need standardized test scores like the GMAT. Students need a total score of 550.

✅ IELTS: Students need an overall score of 7 with bands no less than 6.
✅ PTE: Students choosing the test need an overall score of 65.

Yes, Fitness classes are free to all students, staff & faculty. Yoga is also offered for the cost of $50 per semester.

The purpose of external scholarships is to allow the student to fully concentrate on their studies. Thus, students are advised not to take on UNB employment beyond the 10 hours/week. But in some cases, these appointments may be approved by the supervisor or program director. It’s the responsibility of the student to ensure that they comply with the external scholarship regulations.

Yes, there is an application fee of $65.00 for Domestic applicants and $125.00 for international students, which should be accompanied by their application to be considered for admission.

In that case, students will lose access to Desire2Learn and computer labs. They will be unable to access library books or email. The courses are then removed from their record. At that point, they will be unable to access the University Recreation services and all health insurance benefits. Additionally, they may be charged a $125 re-registration fee to be added back into the courses.
