The University of the Fraser Valley offers multiple intakes throughout the year. UFV operates on a three-semester system, Fall, Winter, and Summer, with each semester having its own application deadlines. The Summer semester includes two sessions, both sharing the same application deadline. Applications are reviewed and acceptances are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as some programs may reach capacity quickly.
Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes are offered in the September intake, while only Undergraduate programmes are available in the January intake.

The University of the Fraser Valley tuition fees for international students are based on a minimum requirement of 12 credits per semester, which usually equals four courses. Tuition fees also cover contributions to the student union and societies, including a transit pass for unlimited local travel. All payments need to be made in Canadian dollars (CAD). The University of the Fraser Valley offers a range of scholarships to support international students. Some scholarships, offering up to CAD $20,000, are automatically considered upon application to UFV; no separate application is needed if eligibility criteria are met.
In addition, UFV provides Scholarships & Leadership Awards to recognize outstanding academic performance. These awards require a separate application and are open to students currently enrolled and attending classes during the academic year.
