Intakes

The University of the Fraser Valley offers multiple intakes throughout the year. UFV operates on a three-semester system, Fall, Winter, and Summer, with each semester having its own application deadlines. The Summer semester includes two sessions, both sharing the same application deadline. Applications are reviewed and acceptances are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as some programs may reach capacity quickly.

Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes are offered in the September intake, while only Undergraduate programmes are available in the January intake.

This intake is open for Undergraduate programmes only.

Cost to Study at University of the Fraser Valley, Canada

The University of the Fraser Valley tuition fees for international students are based on a minimum requirement of 12 credits per semester, which usually equals four courses. Tuition fees also cover contributions to the student union and societies, including a transit pass for unlimited local travel. All payments need to be made in Canadian dollars (CAD). Admission is confirmed in the order payments are received, so early fee submission is encouraged.

Scholarships Available

The University of the Fraser Valley offers a range of scholarships to support international students. Some scholarships, offering up to CAD $20,000, are automatically considered upon application to UFV; no separate application is needed if eligibility criteria are met.
 

In addition, UFV provides Scholarships & Leadership Awards to recognize outstanding academic performance. These awards require a separate application and are open to students currently enrolled and attending classes during the academic year.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission at the University of the Fraser Valley as an international student, applicants need to meet specific entry requirements. These include General Academic Qualifications, minimum levels of English Language Proficiency and Program-Specific Criteria. If a student does not meet the required English Proficiency Level, they may be eligible for one of UFV’s English upgrading programs. ✅ Applicants need to hold a three or four-year bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% or above from a recognised institution.

✅ IELTS: An overall band score of 6.5 with no individual module below 6
✅ PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 61, with no section below 60
✅ TOEFL iBT: A total score of 88, with no individual score less than 20
✅ DET: A minimum overall score of 110 is required

✅ Applicants need to complete Grade 12 with a minimum of 65% or above from a recognised institution. Mathematics is required for science-related programmes.
