The University of Victoria (UVic) is one of Canada’s leading Research-intensive Universities. Established in 1903 as Victoria College, it received the degree-granting status in 1963. Intake

The University of Victoria intakes are annually classified into 3, September, January and May intakes. These multiple intakes provide flexibility for international students to commence their studies depending on the course availability.

 

*Note: KC Overseas assists students for postgrad and undergrad degree applications for University of Victoria. 
 

The September intake or the fall term is the most prominent intake for UVic. This major intake features the broadest selection of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificate programs, making it the primary entry point for many students. The application deadline for this intake is around April for most courses.

The January intake or the winter session is not as extensive as the September intake, but it offers a substantial array of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificate programs. The application deadline for the January intake is around September of the preceding year.

The May intake corresponds to the summer session. This intake is more limited, with a focus on certain specialized programs and courses. The application deadline for this intake is around March.

Scholarships Available

The University of Victoria (UVic) supports outstanding students through a comprehensive array of scholarships and financial aid programs. Each year, UVic awards more than $8 million in scholarships and over $4 million in bursaries to assist students in achieving their educational goals. The University of Victoria Scholarships include Entrance Scholarships based on academic merit. Several of these scholarships are automatically awarded based on admission averages and do not require a separate application. A few Entrance Scholarships are application-based.

 

These Victoria University scholarships also offer in-course scholarships based on academic performance during the study tenure. Mostly, they don’t require an application and are awarded automatically based on GPA.

Admission Requirement

The University of Victoria applications uphold specific admission standards to welcome a diverse and talented student body across its graduate, undergraduate diploma and certificate programs. Beyond the general requirements, international students need to check the specific requirements pertinent to their desired program to ensure a successful submission before the University of Victoria application deadline.

 

✅ Indian students should have a recognised four-year Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. The minimum score required for University of Victoria admission requirements for graduate courses is 75%. 

✅ IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0 is accepted.

✅ TOEFL: A minimum score of 90 with at least 20 in each section is accepted. 


 *Note: Medium of Instruction Letter is accepted for admissions.

✅ Certain programs may also request a curriculum vitae (CV) or resume, particularly if work experience is a prerequisite.

✅ Video submissions will be required for some courses.
