Cost To Study at University of Waterloo

University of Waterloo fees for international students differs based on study levels, kinds of courses and the course duration. The tuition fee is set on per-credit point basis and revised annually. For a few select courses at undergraduate level, the institution has provided an approximate annual fee that is split over the course of four semesters. In addition to tuition, University of Waterloo cost also includes the incidental fees which includes services like health plans, transit pass, recreation facilities and classes, student clubs and services, orientation activities, and support from career advisors.

Scholarship Available

The University of Waterloo offers over 170 scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to University of Waterloo Scholarships, it also offers various financial aid options including government grants, government student loans and bursaries. The University provides faculty-specific scholarships, which are primarily based on academic performance and the overall profile of the students. Admission Requirement

The International Assessment Team at the university oversees University of Waterloo application for students with non-Canadian qualifications. Students applying for the course are required to submit their application before University of Waterloo’s application deadline, once they ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements for the chosen program. Indian Students looking to apply for University of Waterloo admission requirements for graduate or undergraduate studies can check the requirements here.  

✅ Students should have completed Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) with minimum 75% from a recognized university. 

✅  The University of Waterloo accepts scores of the popular language proficiency tests like TOEFL iBT and IELTS for English Language Requirements. 
✅ The overall score required for TOEFL iBT is minimum score of 100, with at least 26 in each section. 
✅ The require score for the IELTS is 7, with no band less than 6.5

✅ Students are required to submit the Letter of Recommendation, Statement of Purpose and CV as a part of their application process. 

✅ For creative and design-related programs, students are required to submit a portfolio. 

✅ For Research-Based Master’s programs, one is required to submit a research proposal. 

✅ Students should have completed XII boards with 80%. 
✅ For any undergraduate course, there is a subject-specific requirement of Mathematics subject. This requirement is an exception for Arts courses. 

✅ The University accepts score of the popular language proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL iBT and PTE. 
✅ The required score for IELTS is 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
✅ The overall score needed for PTE is 63.
✅  For TOEFL iBT, the minimum score of 90 is required with at least 25 in each section. 

*Note: Medium of Instruction Letter is accepted for admissions.

✅ Students are required to submit the Personal Statement/Essay highlighting their academic achievements, career goals and reasons for choosing the university. 
✅ Students are also required to submit the Letters of Recommendation as a part of the application process.

Students Essential Service

Campus life at the University of Waterloo is lively and vibrant with a range of clubs, events, and support services.

The University of Waterloo application deadlines vary depending on the chosen program and the level of study. For fall intake, deadlines are typically in January or February.

The minimum GPA for admission depends on the chosen program. Competitive programs such as Engineering or Computer Science usually have higher GPA requirements.

For most programs, the University of Waterloo takes Class XI percentage into consideration, along with mid-term or predicted Class XII grades. In such cases, the university may extend a conditional offer of admission.

All applicants are invited to complete an online video interview, which is optional. However, for the Software Engineering program, the video interview is mandatory.
