The American University in the Emirates follows a flexible academic calendar designed to meet the diverse needs of international and local students who aspire to study in Dubai. The university offers three major academic intakes in September, January, and May, providing multiple opportunities throughout the year for students to begin their academic journey. The September Intake is the primary admission period at AUE and hosts the largest number of new enrollments each year. All bachelor’s, master's, and doctoral programs are open during this session. Early application is highly recommended to secure scholarships and accommodation options on time.

The January Intake serves as the second major entry option for students who wish to begin their studies mid-academic year. It offers access to a wide range of bachelor’s and master's programs, mirroring most of the Fall offerings. This intake is ideal for students who may have missed the September deadline or are completing prerequisite studies elsewhere.

The May Intake is a special short-session intake, designed mainly for selected bachelor’s and master's courses. It is particularly suitable for students seeking to accelerate their studies through condensed summer modules or begin bridging courses before the main academic year.

Cost to Study

The tuition fees of American University in the Emirates vary depending on the level of study and course specialization. Additionally, AUE requires an admission (one-time) fee.

 

Regarding deposits and payment norms, enrolled and self-sponsored students have flexible payment options. They can either make the full payment at registration or opt for installment plans. Students who are sponsored (governmental, semi-governmental or private sponsor) can submit a sponsorship letter and have invoices sent directly to the sponsoring organisation. Scholarships Available

The American University in the Emirates offers a diverse portfolio of scholarships to support both domestic and international students across Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. These top scholarships in Dubai include both merit-based and need-based options. Additionally, University-sponsored grants, government/employer-tied grants, and special category scholarships are also offered.

 

Scholarship values range from 10% to 100% tuition waivers, depending on criteria such as academic performance, prior credentials, family affiliation, or employee status. Students awarded scholarships are expected to maintain specified CGPA thresholds in order to retain benefits. Admission Requirements

International students seeking to join American University in the Emirates must fulfil rigorous academic and credential standards that align with UAE Ministry of Education regulations and AUE’s commitment to academic excellence.

 

Admission requirements at American University in the Emirates for Indians involve the following. 

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum cumulative average of 65% or its equivalent.
  • Candidates whose undergraduate average falls below 65% may be offered conditional admission for one semester.

  • TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 79  or above is expected. 
  • IELTS Academic: An overall band score of 6.0 or above is expected. 

  • Applicants must have completed Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum average of 70%, including Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
  • Prior to enrollment, students are required to take the University’s placement test relevant to their chosen program. 
  • Applicants who do not achieve the required passing score on the placement test will be required to complete the corresponding preparatory course before proceeding to full admission into their degree program. Few courses may higher entry requirements like average 80% in 12th std along with 80% in mathematics subject as well.

  • TOEFL iBT: A minimum overall score of 61or above is expected. 
  • IELTS Academic: A minimum overall band score of 5.0 or above is expected.

Student Essential Services

The American University in the Emirates campus offers an outstanding environment combining modern infrastructure and holistic student support so that life outside lectures are as enriching as academic learning. Located in the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the campus is fully equipped to meet the diverse needs of its students. From 24/7 security and healthcare services to creative clubs, sports facilities, dining, and event-spaces, AUE ensures students are supported academically, socially and physically throughout their time at the University. 

AUE offers off-campus student residence options that are facilitated upon request. Though accommodations at American University in the Emirates are not directly owned by the University, it arranges vetted housing options to ensure proximity, convenience, and safety for students. The university provides full access and helps in coordination, though it does not get involved in legal or financial responsibility for off-campus housing. 

The campus features 13 laboratories, with over 250 computers, serving disciplines like network security, digital forensics, language learning, multimedia, general computing, etc. Additionally, there is a recreational area for video games and social interaction, plus an outdoor basketball court within the DIAC complex. A Food Court in DIAC offers multiple international restaurant choices and coffee shops.

Health services include a 24/7 ambulance located in front of Block 6 for emergencies, with ambulance transport to the hospital if needed. AUE also ensures insurance coverage for on-campus accidents. The campus has a robust security system with 24-hour security personnel, campus surveillance via CCTV, and monitoring by both AUE’s internal security and DIAC area systems.

AUE has over 15 student clubs and societies to help students explore interests. Annual signature events such as Global Day, National Day, Flag Day, Department of Student Affairs Honor and Awards Ceremonies, Student Showcase, Car Show, etc., bring together students, faculty, and the community to celebrate culture, arts, and achievements.
