Overview

David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) was established in 1989 by Academicians David and Dimitri Tvildiani as “AIETI Medical School.” The University earned its current status in 2011, following authorization from Georgia’s National Authorization Council. It holds recognition from the World Health Organization, the World Directory of Medical Schools, and the Georgian Ministry of Education, with accreditation granted by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
 

Over the years, DTMU has established itself among the leading Universities in Georgia, offering in-demand programs in both basic and clinical medical sciences. Its main campus in Tbilisi encompasses modern lecture theatres, research labs, a well-stocked medical library, and an on-site teaching hospital. Intakes

David Tvildiani Medical University intake is structured with two intakes in each academic year. Starting in September and March, both intakes offer well-planned application timelines for all international applicants. Aligning with other intakes in Georgia, the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program's availability varies for each intake.
 

Note*: KC Overseas Education assists with the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, which is the only course open to international admissions.

The September intake opens with the Fall Academic Session, beginning in early September and ending in late August of the following year. It is the only intake that consistently offers full access to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

The March intake includes a spring session commencing each year between February and March, offering a viable start time for prospective students. While not as widely publicised as the primary intake, this March start is formally sanctioned by the University. The availability is conditional as it is generally reserved for exceptional candidates or those unable to join in September.

David Tvildiani Medical University's admission requirement for international students is built on a balanced evaluation of academic achievement, language proficiency, national exam standards, and personal interview performance. ✅ Applicants must have completed Grade 12 or its equivalent from a recognised educational Institution, securing a minimum of 60% overall and in each of the core science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. 
✅ As part of the admissions process, candidates are also required to participate in a video interview conducted online. 
✅ Submission of a valid NEET scorecard with a qualifying score is mandatory for eligibility.

✅  Submission of IELTS or TOEFL scores is not compulsory for admission. However, applicants are required to provide a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate as proof of English proficiency. 
✅ In cases where the applicant does not possess an IELTS/TOEFL score or an MOI, they will be required to undertake an English Language Proficiency Test administered by the University as part of the application process.
