For most programmes, it is advisable to apply at least 4–5 months before the semester begins. This gives students enough time to arrange documents, meet admission requirements, and complete visa formalities without last-minute pressure.
 

Starting in March is great for students who want an early start and less competition

The April & July intake is a good option for students who want to begin their studies early in the year and avoid the heavy competition of the main intake.

The October intake is the primary intake and offers the widest range of course options.

Along with tuition, students are also required to pay other Rahn Education, Germany costs such as a One-time Registration Fee and an Examination Fee for the assessment test. Students should budget for everyday living expenses in Germany, including Accommodation, Food, Local Travel, Health Insurance, and study materials such as Books, a laptop, etc. In some cases, an initial blocked account may also be required to cover living costs, as per German visa regulations. Admission Requirement

The pathway courses often fill up well before the start of the semester. In many cases, seats are occupied several weeks in advance, which makes early registration extremely important. After submitting the application, a confirmation of registration is typically shared via email within one week. This confirmation is not just a formality; it can also be used for visa-related purposes, including submission to the immigration office for visa extension if required. Once the registration is confirmed, students are guided through the next steps of the process, where all necessary academic and supporting documents need to be submitted. Students with at least an A1 level in German can apply for a German language course first and later progress to meet the Studienkolleg entry requirements.

The FSP final examinations take place at the end of the 2nd semester in our Studienkolleg in Halle (internally), in writing in all main subjects, and there is also an oral examination for certain grades. The lecturers will prepare you sufficiently for the examination level and content in all subjects during the course of your studies.

The Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) certificate issued by Studienkolleg Halle (Rahn Education) is recognised as a higher education entrance qualification across both public and private universities, as well as universities of applied sciences in Germany. The qualification is valid for academic programmes aligned with the chosen specialisation, such as the T-course or W-course.

Students who choose not to continue with university studies can explore vocational pathways. Guidance is provided in identifying suitable professions based on individual strengths and interests, along with support in preparing application documents. Germany currently offers over 300 officially recognised vocational professions across various industries.

International applicants who do not meet the criteria for direct university admission in Germany are required to complete a preparatory programme at a Studienkolleg. This programme typically lasts around 10 months and prepares students for the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP), which is a mandatory requirement for university entry.

A refund of the tuition fee is only possible with written cancellation up to two weeks before the start of the semester, with a deduction of € 900.
