Intakes

The University of Limerick offers a singular September intake for all its Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses, providing students with a cohesive academic start. This unified intake at the University of Limerick creates a vibrant campus atmosphere with students commencing their studies simultaneously.

The September intake is known as the Autumn session. UL presents all the Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs across various disciplines. While the application deadlines vary for different levels of study and courses, certain programs may have earlier closing dates or may close once they reach capacity.

Cost to Study University of Limerick

The University of Limerick maintains a structured fee system for international students planning for Postgraduate or Undergraduate degrees. The University of Limerick fees vary depending on the specific program of study and the level. For new students requiring a visa, a minimum of 50% of the tuition fee must be paid to receive the visa support letter.
 

To confirm their offer, international students are required to pay a €600 acceptance deposit. This deposit is deductible from the total tuition fee. Students can pay the fees online via TransferMate, Debit, Visa, or Laser card upon completing the Online Finance Task.

Scholarships

The University of Limerick supports international students by offering a variety of merit-based scholarships. These scholarships at the University of Limerick are available across multiple faculties and cater to Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels of study. For most merit-based scholarships, eligible students are automatically considered upon application to their chosen program.
 

Beyond these, the University also offers Faculty-Specific Scholarships, Sports Scholarships and Externally funded Scholarships. These scholarships might need a separate application.
 

UL also participates in the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship program. This prestigious scholarship offers full tuition fee waiver along with a €10,000 stipend for one year of study.

Admission Requirement

The University of Limerick maintains a comprehensive entry criterion to evaluate the applicant's academic achievements and ensure they meet all prerequisites. Additionally, UL projects inclusivity by providing several pathway programs for applicants who may not meet standard entry requirements. The Mature Student Access Certificate in particular is for mature learners aiming to refresh or develop academic skills before pursuing a degree.

✅ Indian students need to have a four-year Bachelor's Degree or a three-year honours Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised University.
✅ The overall minimum grade should range between 60-65% conditional to the chosen program
✅ Some programmes may require an admission interview or related work experience. 

✅ IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any bands is needed.
✅ TOEFL iBT: A minimum overall score of 90 is needed. 
✅ PTE Academic: A minimum score of 61 with no section score below 59 is needed. 
✅ Duolingo: A minimum overall score of 120 with no less than 110 in any component is needed.

✅ Indian students need to have a minimum score of 70% in Grades 10th & 12th from ICSE/ISC/CBSE/State boards.
✅ Subjects must include Mathematics, English and another language. 
✅ Applicants must also have at least 70% in Mathematics in Grade 12.
