Intakes at the University of Twente

The University of Twente (UT) offers structured academic intakes for students coming from different nationalities. The intakes at the University of Twente are branched into major and minor intakes with varied course availability. The application deadlines can vary depending on the specific program and the applicant's background.

The primary and most extensive intake at UT begins in September, marking the start of the academic year. This intake encompasses all Master's and Bachelor's programs, providing a wide array of options for students across various disciplines. Students can initiate their applications from October of the preceding year and the application deadlines are determined by the applicant's nationality.

In addition to the primary September intake, UT offers a secondary or minor intake in February for select Pre-master's programs and specific specializations within Master's programs. No Bachelor’s degree options are available. Applications for the University of Twente's February intake open around March of the previous year. The application deadlines again differ according to the applicant's nationality.

Cost to Study at University of Twente

Tuition fees at UT are determined by the student's nationality and the chosen program. International students are required to pay the institutional tuition fee, as Dutch Universities do not receive government funding for non-EU/EEA (international) students.
 

The cost to study at the University of Twente also includes an application fee of €100. This mandatory fee is non-refundable and expected for Master's and Bachelor's degree applications.
 

First-year students are required to pay the entire annual tuition fee in a single payment by bank transfer. This is necessary to get a visa or residence permit. Acceptable payment options include Credit card, PayPal, iDEAL, or Bank transfer.

Scholarships at University of Twente

The University of Twente provides several scholarships to outstanding international talent for academic excellence and other accomplishments. These financial aids assist students across various levels of study. Popular University of Twente scholarships include Academic merit scholarships, Program-specific scholarships, Government-funded scholarships and Privately funded scholarships. Most of these scholarships need a separate application process.

Admission Requirement

The University of Twente maintains rigorous and selective academic standards to shortlist students who prove exceptional potential in their chosen subjects. Since not all applicants may meet the direct entry criteria, UT has foundation pathways to overcome the educational gaps. The pathway or pre-master's programs range from three months to one academic year, depending on the specific requirements of the subsequent degree program. ✅ Indian students need to have a minimum score of 75% or higher in a relevant area of study and from a recognised University. 
For Computer Science or related fields, knowledge in topics like Object-Oriented Programming, Computer Methodology with at least 60 ECTS credits in Computer Science is required. 
A GMAT score of 600 is required for an MBA program.

✅ TOEFL iBT: A minimum score of 90 is needed with at least 21 in each section.
✅ IELTS: A minimum score of 6.5 is needed with no bands lower than 6.0.

✅ A CV or Resume is needed for courses requiring work experience.
An updated portfolio is needed for creative and design-related programs.
A research proposal will be needed for Research-based Master’s programs.

✅ Indian students need to have a minimum of 75% overall in 12th standard and 75% in Mathematics. 
The accepted boards are CBSE, International Baccalaureate Diploma or Dutch equivalent board. Mathematics subject is mandatory.

✅ TOEFL iBT: A minimum score of 80 is needed with at least 18 in each section.
✅ IELTS: A minimum score of 6.0 is needed with no bands lower than 5.5.
