Life at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences

1. How can students access the academic year calendar?

To open a private bank account in the Netherlands, students need to provide the following documents: ✅ A valid passport or identity card ✅ A citizen service number (BSN) ✅ Proof of address in the Netherlands (e.g., a rental contract or utility bill) ✅ A residence permit (for non-EU students) Students can either schedule an appointment online or visit a local bank branch to initiate the account opening process.

2. What is the process for opening a private Dutch bank account?

The deadlines for the Graduation Assignment are clearly outlined in the Education and Examination Guide (EEG) and on the University's online platforms. If a student anticipates difficulty in meeting a deadline, it is essential to discuss the matter with their Academic Supervisor in advance. Extensions are considered on a case-by-case basis and require valid justification.

3. Is it possible to request an extension for the submission of the Graduation Assignment?

Yes, students may apply for a leave of absence for one lesson block or up to two consecutive lesson blocks. The application needs to be submitted before the start of the Project Week (Week 3) preceding the lesson block for which the leave is intended. Approval is subject to the university's policies and the student's academic standing.

4. Can students apply for a leave of absence from their studies?

The Netherlands has a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, resulting in mild summers and cool winters. Average summer temperatures range from 18°C to 22°C (64°F to 72°F), while winter temperatures average around 1°C (34°F). The country is known for its frequent winds and rainfall, so students are advised to prepare accordingly.

5. What kind of weather can students expect in the Netherlands?

Wittenborg University intakes are available six times a year for all degree programs. In contrast to many other Dutch Universities of applied sciences, there is no May 1st application deadline for this University. &nbsp;International students are required to apply 8 to 10 weeks before their chosen entry date. If an application is not submitted before the deadline, it will automatically be considered for the next available intake block, unless the applicant specifies otherwise.&nbsp;

These are rolling intakes, during which all Master's and Bachelor’s programs are available.
