Overview

Established in 1905, the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) began its journey on Hardy Street. The institute experienced major growth during the 1980s and 1990s, expanding its presence. Notable developments during this time included the opening of the Ballinger Horticulture Centre in Blenheim in 1986.
 

Today, NMIT’s main campus is in Nelson, with additional campuses in Richmond, Marlborough, and Woodbourne. Each campus delivers a distinct mix of programs, from certificate courses to Postgraduate qualifications.
