To enroll in a single module, the faculty and the major study program that offers the module must be selected. The minor study program is not required for Swiss mobility applications, so any minor can be chosen to proceed with the registration.

1. How can a student enroll for a single module at the University of Zurich if the application requires selecting a major and a minor program?

Instead of waiting, the proof of matriculation for the current semester can be uploaded to the application portal. Applications must be submitted before the deadline, and there is no need to provide updated proof later.

2. What should be done if proof of matriculation for the next semester is not available before the University of Zurich’s application deadline?

This usually happens due to an incorrect selection during the application process. The application should be withdrawn using the "Withdraw Application" button. A new application must be created, selecting "Mobility within Switzerland: Incoming" as the type of study program. This ensures that no fee is charged at the submission stage.

3. Swiss mobility students are not required to pay a fee, but the application portal shows a payment request. Why is this happening?

Enrollment at the University of Zurich is restricted to the academic level at which the student is currently registered at their home university. Bachelor’s students cannot enroll in master’s-level modules.

4. Can a student attend master’s modules at the University of Zurich while still completing a bachelor's degree at their home university?

No, confirmation is not required. The next step is to follow the instructions provided in the admission decision to complete matriculation.

5. Is it necessary to confirm acceptance after receiving an admission offer?

The University of Zurich intakes for both Master’s and Bachelor’s programs occur in the months of September and March. Among these, the September intake is considered the primary intake. Both intakes have different deadline periods, so international students are encouraged to apply early to allow sufficient time for visa processing, securing accommodation, and arranging finances.

The September intake offers a good number of master’s and bachelor’s programs. Applications for the Fall semester typically open in January and close by the end of April.
