Intakes
Abertay University intakes are classified into two categories: Major and Minor. Students can select their intake based on the course they plan to pursue.
September is considered the primary intake, offering a wide range of Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs. October is also treated as a major intake, specifically for all MSc by Research programs.
January, February, and June are classified as minor intakes. In January, only a few selected Master’s programs are open for admission. In February and June, MSc by Research programs are available across various disciplines.

Scholarships Available
Abertay University Scholarships are available across both Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels, offering financial support specifically for international students. Postgraduate applicants may receive awards of up to £3,000, while international Undergraduate students can be eligible for scholarships worth up to £12,000 over the duration of their studies.
In most cases, a separate application is not required. Students are automatically considered for these scholarships during the evaluation of their academic application and personal statement.
Admission Requirements
The Abertay University Admission process depends on the level of study, the chosen course, and the applicant’s country of origin. In addition to meeting academic requirements, students must also provide proof of language skills through approved English proficiency tests.

Most taught Postgraduate programs require an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual component below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the university. Some specific programs have higher requirements:

✅ Students must have completed senior secondary school (12th grade) from ICSE, CBSE, or a state board with a minimum overall score of 65%, or hold equivalent qualifications such as A-levels or the IB.
Most Undergraduate courses require IELTS 6.0 overall, with no band less than 5.5. Certain programs require higher scores:
✅ BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing: IELTS 7.0
✅ BSc (Hons) Food Nutrition and Health and BSc (Hons) Fitness, Nutrition and Health: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
