Overview

Started on 18th October 1884, Bangor University was started by farmers and quarrymen who wanted to provide access to higher education for the local population.  It is one of the oldest and most prestigious degree-awarding universities in the UK. Since then, it has become a center for excellence in teaching and research, known for offering a multicultural and inclusive study environment. The main campus is in Bangor, North Wales, with breathtaking landscapes and panoramic views. It may be one of the most beautiful campuses in the country as it is located between the Snowdonia Mountains and the Menai Strait.

The university accepts international applications throughout the year, but it is better for students to apply as per the Bangor University intakes deadline. Admission Requirement

There are many ways to apply to Bangor University. International students do not have to pay Bangor University Application fee. The Bangor University English language requirements for IELTS differ based on courses and the study level.
 

The university offers guidance to students at each stage, whether they are about to apply, they have applied or after application. Here we will see the requirements for Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs for this university applicable to Indian students.

✅ Students need a minimum of 2:2 or 50-55% or 6.0 GPA in their Bachelors degree

✅ IELTS: Students need an overall score of 6.0 with a band score of no less than 5.5

Yes, students need a Standard Visitor visa (as a tourist). Once they have an unconditional offer of a place at a UK university, they would then need to return to their home country to apply for a study visa. This is because they cannot switch from a visitor visa to a study visa from within the UK.

CAS stands for "Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies". Students need a CAS number in order to apply for a student visa. Once they have an unconditional offer from Bangor University the university will email the 'CAS letter' to the student. The CAS number can be found on the CAS letter.

If the student is progressing from undergraduate to Postgraduate or Postgraduate to PhD, they can apply to extend their visa in the UK. Students need to make a new visa application before their old visa expires.

If the student wants to change their course part-way through, and the new course is the same level, same subject area, and the same length as the old course, then they can continue studying at Bangor University with their existing visa, depending on the decision made by the International Student Support Office.
