Cranfield University, a specialist postgraduate university founded in 1946, is situated in Wharley End near Cranfield Village. Its origins can be traced back to the College of Aeronautics, which evolved significantly during the 1950s and 1960s. In 1969, it was restructured as the Cranfield Institute of Technology and was granted full degree-awarding powers through a Royal Charter. Cranfield University’s unique Shrivenham campus hosts Cranfield Defence and Security (CDS). This secure facility operates in partnership with the UK’s Defence Academy and the Ministry of Defence. Admission Requirements
