Cost to Study at De MontFort University, UK

De Montfort University fees differ based on the level of study for international students. Upon receiving an unconditional offer, students are required to make a 50% tuition fee pre-payment to confirm their place. Tuition fees can be paid through three main methods: online payment, bank transfer via services like Flywire, or through an approved instalment plan.
 

De Montfort University costs also include living expenses, which vary depending on individual lifestyle and accommodation choices.

Scholarships Available

De Montfort University Scholarships include a variety of options at both Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels. In partnership with the University of Leicester, DMU offers discounts to graduates on selected Postgraduate Taught Courses. Full-time Undergraduate students also have access to generous awards. Additionally, there are alumni scholarships available for Postgraduate students.

Admission Requirements

De Montfort Admissions requirements include a wide range of qualifications from around the world. Some Postgraduate Courses have additional criteria that students must meet. For those who do not meet the requirements for Undergraduate study, options include the International Incorporated Bachelor’s Degree or the International First Year.
 

International students are also required to meet the English language requirements for DMU, which may vary depending on the level of study. This often includes providing an IELTS certificate or an equivalent qualification. Indian students planning to study at De Montfort University can find the eligibility criteria here.

✅ An Undergraduate Degree with a minimum of 50%–60%, depending on the institution attended and the specific course applied for.

✅ IELTS: Overall score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5
✅ PTE: Overall score of 59, with a minimum of 59 in each section
✅ TOEFL: Minimum overall score of 60, with individual section scores not less than:
o Reading: 8
o Listening: 7

Student Essential Services

Student life and support are managed through a collaboration between the university's internal departments and the De Montfort Students' Union (DSU). DSU, in partnership with the university, organizes activities and support services. Dedicated teams, including the Wellbeing Team, Student Administrative Support, and International Student Support, are available to assist students.

DMU features over 90 student-led groups and societies, covering interests like anime, dance, comics, music, and pole fitness. DMU Sport promotes physical activity through the DMUactive program, which includes free swimming lessons, Pilates, climbing, table tennis, running, basketball, and more.

DMU supports academic development through resources focused on essay writing, written English, research skills, time management, presentations, and exam preparation. Specialist assistance is also available via the Student Gateway, Library and Learning Services, and Student Advice Centres.

De Montfort University accommodation is guaranteed for all new international students, with seven different halls of residence to choose from. Each hall offers various contract lengths and price options to match different needs and preferences. All residences are self-catered, giving students flexibility and independence. Rooms come fully furnished, and DMU supplies a bedding pack that includes a duvet, pillow, and bedsheets.

The university has launched the #HealthyDMU HUB to support student health and wellbeing. The Hub offers quick access to appointment bookings with various university service departments and activities.
