Durham University Intakes are primarily in September with the academic year starting in autumn. UCAS handles applications for Bachelor's programs, while Master's programs are managed directly through Durham's portal.

This is the major intake, and students can apply to any study level and any program of their choice in this intake. While the majority of programs follow the September start, some may offer alternative start dates as well.

Cost to Study at Durham University, UK

Durham University fees vary depending on the level of study and course chosen. The tuition fee can be paid whole together or in three instalments, divided into equal payments.

Payments can be made by overseas students through International Bank Transfer or International Card. Scholarships Available

Durham University is committed to supporting the best students by offering scholarships at different levels of studies. These scholarships are funded by the university, external organizations, and generous donations from alumni and friends. Scholarships that include a tuition fee waiver cannot be transferred or deferred. They are only valid for the academic year in which they are awarded to the recipient.
 

Durham University International Scholarships 2025-26 has been introduced for students from India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Vietnam.

Admission Requirement

Durham University accepts a wide range of qualifications for entry to different levels of study based on different nationalities. All courses have specific academic and English proficiency requirements, with some programs demanding prior knowledge of certain subjects. English proficiency requirements are specifically for native English speakers. International students who do not meet the Durham University admission requirements for direct entry to a Postgraduate or Undergraduate Degree may opt for a pathway program. Durham University application deadline may vary according to the level of the course.

✅ A minimum of 60% to 70% in the Bachelor’s Degree, depending on the university.

✅ IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with no individual band lower than 6
✅ TOEFL iBT: 92 with no component under 23 
✅ PTE Academic: Minimum overall score of 62, with at least 59 in each component
 

*Note: An English Language Waiver may be considered based on a student’s Grade 12 English results, subject to the education board and university discretion.

✅ Applicants are required to have an average score between 83% and 90% in Standard XII. Results from CBSE, CISCE, and select State Boards are considered, with State Board qualifications evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

✅ IELTS: 6.0 overall, with no band below 5.5.
✅ TOEFL iBT: 92 with no component under 23 
✅ PTE: 59 overall, with a minimum of 59 in each section
