Cost to Study at University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham tuition fees for international students covers the cost of tuition, examination, access to various IT facilities, and the library. Scholarships Available

University of Birmingham offers scholarships for domestic and international students. These scholarships are for Masters as well as Bachelors applicants based on different criteria. University of Birmingham scholarships are offered for different subjects, for research, and to improve diversity.
 

The University of Birmingham Masters Scholarships for Postgraduate students are mostly government scholarships that offer the University of Birmingham Fully Funded Scholarship for international students. It also recognizes care leavers and students who are coming to the university for the first time. The support offered to these students is to fund their accommodation or in the form of cash bursaries.

Admission Requirement

The University of Birmingham’s Admission Requirements for different levels of education are specific. These requirements may include factors like age, certain qualifications as per their standards, and special requirements. Apart from these, the requirements can also differ for domestic and international students at different levels of education.

✅ Hold a Bachelors degree of  55% - 60% or higher for 2:1 equivalency, or 50% - 55% for 2:2 equivalency depending on the awarding institution. 

✅ IELTS students need an overall score in the range of 6.5 to 7.0 and a minimum band score of 6.0 to 6.5.
✅ TOEFL iBT: 88 overall score with no score less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing.
✅ PTE: An overall score of 67 with no less than 64 in all four components.

✅ Requires 80% to 85% depending on the 12th board.
✅ Test scores other than IELTS may also be accepted for English language proficiency.

✅  IELTS: Oveall score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in any band for standard courses
✅  TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 88 with no score less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
✅  PTE: An overall score of 67, with 67 in Writing and Speaking

After the application, the University will review the application, and the applications are processed on a rolling basis.

The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies or CAS number is issued directly via Admissions for students who have been attending the university for more than 6 months. Students can only apply for a visa 6 months before their study start date.

Since the programs are designed to enable students to learn and network on their terms, the University of Birmingham does not provide private tutoring.

For a one-year course, students need to take 60 UK credits per semester which is 120 UK credits in total.
