Overview

The University of Brighton was established in 1859 as a School of Art within Brighton's Royal Pavilion kitchens. Since then, the University has evolved into a dynamic institution renowned for its commitment to practical learning and research excellence. Awarded University status in 1992, it now hosts approximately 17,000 students, including a significant number of international students. The University has three campuses in Brighton, namely, Moulsecoomb Campus, City Campus, and Falmer Campus.
 

The University comprises numerous academic schools and departments. It offers a wide range of academic subjects for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.  Emphasising vocational training through placements, live projects, and study abroad opportunities, the University of Brighton is good for international students in many aspects.

Intakes

The University of Brighton follows a dynamic and globally aligned academic calendar. With two structured University of Brighton intakes, the University ensures that students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds can commence their studies at a time most suited to their preference.

The September intake is the major intake, covering a comprehensive range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs across various disciplines. Applications for this intake usually open in mid-September of the preceding year.

The January intake is the minor intake that offers select Postgraduate programs, providing an alternative start date for students who may need additional time for preparation or who receive their results later in the year.

Cost to Study at University of Brighton, UK

University of Brighton tuition fees for full-time international Undergraduate students are the same for both classroom-based and laboratory or studio-based courses. For Postgraduate taught programs, such fees vary.

Admission Requirements

For those who may not meet direct entry requirements, the University of Brighton International College provides pathway programs that guarantee progression to degree courses upon successful completion. ✅ Indian applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised institution, completed over a minimum duration of three years with a minimum overall score of 55%.

✅ IELTS: An overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. 
✅ PTE: A minimum score of 59 overall, with 59 in each individual component.
✅ TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 85, with minimum sub-scores of 18 in Writing, 17 in Speaking, 10 in Reading and Listening.
