Overview

The University of Huddersfield has an interesting history. While the University was formed in 1992, its history goes back as far as 1841 when the Young Men’s Mental Improvement Society was formed. The University has 2 campuses, with the main campus in Huddersfield and the other one being the University of Huddersfield London campus.  It has also been rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework and has won the first Global Teaching Excellence Award.
 

The University of Huddersfield has more than 20,000 students who come from all around the world. Among those are 4,500 students from more than 100 countries . Cost to Study at University of Huddersfield, England

The University of Huddersfield tuition fee for international students is fixed for the duration of their study. There is no annual increase unless the student decides to take a break from their course.
 

The University of Huddersfield tuition fees include things like lectures, seminars, and tutorials, compulsory field trips, access to the library, access to computer facilities, support and wellbeing services, students' union membership, and course administration fees.   Students can pay their fees online through the University’s payment Gateway or by using a credit or debit card.

Scholarships Available

The University of Huddersfield Scholarships are offered to international students on the basis of merit. Students do not have to apply for it separately as they will be considered provided they meet certain eligibility criteria.
 

To be eligible for any scholarship, it is important to self-fund the tuition fees.  If the scholarship is applicable, it will be mentioned in the student’s offer letter. This is applicable to Postgraduate taught as well as Undergraduate-level scholarships for international students. Moreover, for Postgraduate research, there are separate scholarships along with other subject-specific scholarships.

Admission Requirements

Before applying students need to meet the University of Huddersfield eligibility requirements for any course. 
The qualifications may differ from country to country. For the Undergraduate level, admissions are offered based on grades, evidence of knowledge in a personal statement, and references. It also reviews interview performance or portfolio review, along with other exceptional circumstances.  
 

For the Postgraduate level, it is important to meet academic as well as English language proficiency entry requirements. However, students who do not meet these requirements can join the Pre-Sessional English Language Programmes available at the University. Here are the requirements for Indian students for the Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels.
 

✅ A minimum of 60% is required in Bachelors degree in an equivalent professional qualification

✅  Applicants with other professional qualifications and/or experience will be considered individually.

For Nursing or Health Programs

✅ Minimum 70% in 12th English is required within a 5-year gap for CBSE and CISCE national boards to waive off IELTS.
✅ Otherwise, IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 and no band less than 6, or TOEFL/PTE is required.

✅ IELTS: Students need a score of 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
✅TOEFL iBT: Students are required to have an overall score of 87 with 22 in Reading, 21 in Listening, 23 in Speaking, and 21 in Writing. TOEFL Home Edition is not accepted. 
✅PTE: Applicants need an overall score of 66 with 59 minimum in Listening, a minimum of 59 in Reading, a minimum of 59 in Writing, and a minimum of 59 in Speaking.

 

Note*: The University offers an English Language proficiency waiver under the following conditions:
1) A minimum of 65% is required within a 5-year gap for CBSE and CISCE national boards.
2) A minimum of 70% is required within a 5-year gap for Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh.



 

✅ For Undergraduate courses minimum 65% is required in 12th Grade.

For Nursing or Health Programs
✅ A minimum of 70% in 12th English is required within a 5-year gap for CBSE and CISCE national boards to waive off IELTS.
✅Otherwise, students should have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 and no band less than 6, or TOEFL/PTE is required.

✅ IELTS Academic: Students need 6.0 score overall with no lower than 5.5 in any section.
✅ TOEFL iBT: students are required to have an overall score 87 with a Reading score of 22, a Listening score of 21, a Speaking score of 23 and a Writing score of 21. The University does not accept TOEFL Home Edition
✅ PTE: They need to have an overall score of 66 with a Listening score of 59 minimum, a Reading score of 59 minimum, a Writing score of 59 minimum, and a Speaking score of 59 minimum.
