Overview

Established in 1927 as University College Hull, the University of Hull is the 14th oldest University in England. It officially gained University status in 1954. Situated in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, the University has a rich history of academic excellence and research innovation. The main campus is located in a suburban area of Hull. It offers a blend of historic and modern facilities, including the Brynmor Jones Library, a 7-storey library housing over a million volumes. Recently, the University inaugurated the London Study Centre in Bloomsbury, central London. As one of the top Universities in London, it offers Business-focused Postgraduate programs.

The September intake is the primary admission period at the University of Hull, encompassing a comprehensive range of Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate taught (PG), and Postgraduate research (PhD) programs. Admission Requirements

The University of Hull welcomes international students with a commitment to academic excellence and a supportive learning environment. ✅ Applicants must hold a recognised undergraduate degree with a minimum score of 55% or higher, which is typically equivalent to a UK 2:2 honours degree.
✅ Certain programs may have specific academic prerequisites or higher entry requirements.

✅ IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 with no component less than 5.5 or 6.0.
✅ TOEFL iBT: An overall score between 79 to 93 with minimum sub-scores 10 in Reading, 9 in Listening, 17 in Speaking 17 and 19 in Writing.
✅ PTE Academic: An overall score of 61 with no component below 51 or 54, depending on course requirements.

Note* - Applicants may be eligible for a waiver if they scored between 70 to 80% in Grade 12 English. They must have studied under any of the following recognised boards like CBSE, CISCE, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Tamil Nadu State Board, Karnataka State Board, Kerala State Board and Maharashtra State Board.

✅ Applicants from CBSE & CISCE need to have a minimum overall average of 70% in 12th standard from the top four academic subjects.
✅ Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, a minimum overall average of 70% is needed. 
✅ For Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka and Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, a minimum overall average of 60% is needed. 
✅ For Board of Public Examinations, Kerala, a minimum aggregate score of 150 or above is needed. 
✅ For International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, accepted score is between 28 and 30.

✅IELTS: An overall score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5.
✅TOEFL iBT: An overall score between 60 to 78 with minimum sub-scores of 10 in Reading, 9 in Listening, 17 in Speaking and 19 in Writing.
✅ PTE Academic: An overall score of 59 with no skill below 51.

Common FAQs

All international students (classified as overseas for fee purposes) enrolling in a taught or research Master’s programme, or a PhD, are required to pay a tuition fee deposit of £4,000 to confirm their place at the University of Hull.

If a student decides to withdraw from their course—either temporarily or permanently—the University of Hull calculates tuition fees, including any applicable fee waivers or discounts, based on the student’s official date of withdrawal.

✅  Withdrawal during Term 2: 50% of the tuition fees are payable
