Intakes

The University of Sheffield provides two intakes annually. Starting in September and February, these University of Sheffield intakes offer varied course choices. The University provides a detailed application timeline to help students gauge when they should start applying. However, certain courses may have different dates from others.

 *Note: KC Overseas supports applications for courses starting in September.

Cost to Study at University of Sheffield, UK

The University of Sheffield fees differ depending on the study level and the residency status of the student. If the fee status is not mentioned clearly on the application, the student may be contacted by the University. The university offers a tool to find the course fees at both levels.
 

International students pursuing a campus-based postgraduate taught course are required to pay a tuition fee deposit to accept the Unconditional offer. The University of Sheffield's cost can be paid using the Flywire or Convera portal.

Scholarships Available

University of Sheffield scholarships for international students are based on academic merit. The UK scholarships are offered at the Postgraduate as well as the Undergraduate level. There are certain criteria students have to meet to get these scholarships. While some are considered automatically, a few require an additional application.
 

The University also allows certain other externally funded scholarships from the Government or other organizations. The application for these scholarships will depend on the students’ date of entry.

Admission Requirement

University of Sheffield admissions are managed by the University’s admissions service. They are responsible for administering policies and procedures for all kinds of courses offered. Given below are the requirements for Indian students at the Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels.

✅ Students need a 3 or 4-year Undergraduate degree from a recognised University in a relevant subject for entry. 
✅  Mostly, Postgraduate courses require a UK 2:1 or equivalent for entry, but some courses may consider 2:2 grades. 

✅ First class Honours 70%
✅ 2:1 (Upper Second Class Honours) 60%
✅ 2:2 (Lower Second Class Honours) 55% 

✅  IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum band score of 6.0 is accepted.
✅  PTE: An overall score of 61 with no scores less than 56 in each component is accepted. 
✅  TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 88 with 19 in Listening and Writing, 20 in Reading, and 22 in Speaking is accepted. 

*Note: English language waiver is accepted if the 12th scores are 75% or above for CBSE or CISCE. For Certain State Boards, 80% or above is required to be eligible.

Students need a minimum of 75% overall and 75-80% in key subjects in Standard XII to be eligible for direct admission to Undergraduate degree programs.

✅ IELTS: An overall score of 6.0 with a minimum band score of 5.5 is accepted.
✅ PTE: An overall score of 56 with no scores less than 51 in each component is accepted. 
✅TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 88 with 19 in Listening and Writing, 20 in Reading, and 22 in Speaking is accepted.
 

*Note: English language waiver is accepted if the 12th scores are 75% or above for CBSE or CISCE. For Certain State Boards, 80% or above is required to be eligible.
