From humble beginnings in 1595 as Bristol Society of Merchant Venturers' Navigation School to becoming a hub for world-leading research with global impact, the University of the West of England (UWE) has a legacy of excellence for centuries that continues to grow. There are 3 campuses of the university that are the Frenchay Campus, the City Campus, and the Glenside Campus. Frenchay campus is the flagship campus that is close to the city centre and has the students’ union, library, sports facilities, shops, and more.
 

The University of the West of England has 38,000+ students out of which there are more than 9,000 are international students. The university has a positive male-to-female ratio with more than 21,000 female and over 17,000 male students on campus. When it comes to research, 76% of UWE Bristol research is known for being world-leading and internationally excellent. They are focusing on groundbreaking research in technology, healthcare, and sustainability, among others, to create a global impact in these areas.

Intakes

University of the West of England intakes in UK are divided into major and minor intakes for international students. Before applying for any of the University of the West of England intakes, international students need to check their eligibility and choose to apply using the method most favourable for them. Cost to Study at University of the West of England, UK

The University of West England's tuition fees are based on the tuition fee policy of the university. It applies to students at the University and the partner institutions. Other conditions of fee payment for international students are that it should always be paid directly to the university, and the fee should be paid through Flywire.
 

Students need to pay their tuition fees or in installments before or during registration, which does not include the deposit that students have already paid.

Scholarships Available

The University of West of England Scholarships provide students with support based on their academic performance. The scholarships are aimed at promoting diversity and improving the student profile. The scholarships are offered based on course choice, personal statement, their references, skills, experience, their interview, and more. All the scholarships offered by the university are in the form of tuition fee remission. The university offers 42 scholarships for foreign students.They are not required to apply for an International Student Scholarship. The university also offers students resources like The Scholarship Hub.
 

To get these scholarships, students need to meet the UKVI criteria in terms of finances, displaying the ability to cover their living costs and the remaining fee. The scholarships offered by the university are not deferrable. Students planning to defer may need to reapply to be considered for it again.

Admission Requirements

The university has experts who host webinars for students to know more about the University of the West of England Admission. Apart from that, they have pre-recorded seminars on a wide range of concerns that can help students. Students who are under 18 years of age are required to have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. For students facing visa refusal, the university offers an online credibility interview to help them get admission and visa approval eventually.

Given below are Master's and Bachelor's course requirements for Indian students.

 

✅ Students need a Bachelor's degree with a 55-60% score.
✅ Requirements may vary as per the course.

✅ IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 bands is required with 5.5 bands in each component.
✅TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 90 or above is needed, including a minimum of 17 in Listening and Writing, 18 in Reading, and 20 in Speaking.
✅ PTE: A total score of 62 is needed with a minimum score of 59 in each component.
 

Note*: English Language Waiver is available for students who have an HSC certificate from CBSE, ICSE, WBCHSEB, or some state boards with a score of 70% in English Language.

✅ Students need a Higher Secondary School Certificate of standard XII from one of the following boards, CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB, with 65%.
✅ They also need a grade C in at least five subjects. 
✅ Requirements may vary based on course selection.

They have Career and Enterprise drop-ins across the campuses and locations that are a starting point, where students can identify various resources or other appropriate support from the university’s services as per their needs. Student Essential Services

The University of West of England Campuses are not just a place for students to attend classes and submit assignments. The university has much more to offer both in terms support throughout their student life and to make their student experience holistic in terms of academics as well as extracurricular opportunities.

Students can join from more than 111 clubs, societies, sports, and volunteering groups based on their interests. They have a center for music as well that offers lessons, allowing students to form bands or groups to sing together. They have a dynamic student hub that offers updates on all the activities students can participate in.

The Global Center helps international students to come together as well as offers support in different aspects of student life. They have a UWE Global Buddies program that helps new international students become familiar with their new academic and cultural surroundings. Apart from that, they offer support before and after arrival, they host events at the student union, and more. Students who are struggling with student life can reach out to experience coaches who help to overcome anxiety.

Students can choose accommodation based on the location, cost, and amenities they prefer. After applying, students need to accept their offer within 5 days and make the payment to reserve the room. UWE also offers accommodation for specially abled students with amenities like more space, lift access, better lighting, height-adjustable desks, and more.

Students need to register with a GP after they arrive in the UK.
