Overview
Started in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College, the Florida Institute of Technology is a research university that has, over the years, became one of the top universities for Student Experience, Graduate Employability, and more.
The University has one major campus which is located in the city of Melbourne, Florida, also known as the Space Coast. The campus is close to downtown, the airport, the beach, and the NASA Kennedy Center. Another feature of the campus is its Florida Tech Challenge Course, which is an outdoor recreation and leadership training facility.
It has more than 7,000 students, with 23% international students coming from more than 80 countries. 424 faculty members of the University are Ph.D. holders or have degrees in their field. All the programs at Florida Institute of Technology are taught in 4 different colleges, namely the College of Aeronautics, the Bisk College of Business, the College of Engineering and Science, and the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts.

Intakes
Florida Institute of Technology intakes are rolling for students on the Graduate as well as Undergraduate levels. However, on the Graduate level, students are advised to follow certain recommended dates for application to make sure that their application is considered for entrance in that semester. Applications after the recommended date may be considered, but may not be guaranteed admission. On the Undergraduate level, due to rolling intakes, the admission applications are accepted throughout the year. Applications received after the deadline may be considered in the next entry term.

Scholarships Available
Florida Institute of Technology offers merit-based scholarships for international students at the Undergraduate level. There is no separate application for the scholarships offered by the University. Students who may be eligible for more than one scholarship will receive the one with the higher value. Students cannot stack or combine 2 scholarships. There are certain exceptions to this if the student has received Incentive Scholarships, Florida Tech Family Grants, and Need-Based Grants.
Apart from scholarships, on the Graduate level, the University offers Teaching & Research Assistantships to students. The selection is based on GPA, TOEFL score, GRE Score, and academic recommendations. For teaching assistantships, students need to take a weeklong seminar to demonstrate teaching proficiency after completing the seminar.
