Overview

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) was established in 1978 by Richard G. Rowan in Savannah, Georgia. It is widely recognized as one of the premier Art and Design institutions in the United States.
 

It has multiple campuses offering degree programs in both Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia, along with study abroad opportunities in Lacoste, France and other international locations. Each location provides a distinct educational experience, and students who choose to study at SCAD have the flexibility to transition between campuses during any academic quarter.
 

More than 17,500 students from all 50 U.S. states and over 120 countries choose to study at SCAD, reflecting its global appeal and diverse academic community. The university employs nearly 1,900 full- and part-time staff, including approximately 700 faculty members. Cost of Studying at SCAD

Scholarships

Admission Requirement

Student Essential Services

Student support at SCAD is provided by the Office of Counselling and Student Support Services (CS3). Student life is managed through offices like Student Success and Advising, along with student-led groups and activities.

SCAD Savannah is the largest campus of the university, featuring nearly 70 historic and beautifully restored buildings spread across the city. Each building is thoughtfully designed and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, providing students with an inspiring and resource-rich environment.

It delivers dynamic student engagement through more than 100 clubs and organizations, covering academic, cultural, performance-based, media, and special interest areas. New students are introduced to campus life through SCAD Squads, which organize community events and service activities. Opportunities include auditioning for the SCAD Performance Ensemble, participating in art exhibitions and publications, joining intramural sports, and contributing to service projects like SCAD SERVE.

There is on-campus housing for both Graduate and Undergraduate students. Graduate housing is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with eligibility requiring full-time enrolment and at least one in-person class per term. First-year Undergraduate students are required to live in university housing unless officially exempted. All accommodations are covered under a nine-month housing license agreement.
