Overview

Located in Catonsville, Maryland, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is a public research institution. Established in 1966, it was the first in the state to be founded with an inclusive approach to education. UMBC joined the University System of Maryland in 1988, which includes 12 campuses across the state, such as Baltimore County, College Park, and Towson. It also has three regional higher education centres and a central administrative office.
