Overview

The University of South Florida (USF) was established in 1956, with classes beginning on September 26, 1960. Despite being a relatively young institution, USF has gained recognition for its rapid growth and commitment to academic excellence. The University is a high-impact research institution at the forefront of advancements in health, environmental sustainability, and both global and national security.
 

USF operates three campuses in Florida, which include the main Tampa campus, the Sarasota-Manatee campus, and the St. Petersburg campus. The Tampa campus is a leading public research institution, recognised by the Carnegie Foundation for its highest research activity and community engagement.
 

The University  of South Florida is a vibrant and inclusive institution, home to a diverse community of 48,732 students from more than 146 countries around the world. The University has also received the American Council on Education/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation for research.
 

The University has 14 Colleges, from Medicine and the Arts to Marine Science and Business, USF offers  a wide range of degree and specialisation programs. Students have the flexibility to dive deep into their chosen field while also exploring other areas of interest across the University.

It has contributed 11 inventors to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame and founded the National Academy of Inventors, a global organization with 4,600 members across 300 institutions. Intakes

The University of South Florida offers multiple intakes for international students. It accepts applications for Bachelors in 2 intakes. We are focusing on Bachelors as KC Overseas Education assists with Bachelors courses.
 

Students are encouraged to apply early, as many programs give top priority for admission and funding to applications submitted at the beginning of the cycle. For Undergraduate studies, students can submit their applications up to one year before their desired term of entry.

Admission Requirement

The University of South Florida admission requirements differ for domestic and international students. The University has a system of self-reporting academic records that requires students to report their academic records accurately for their past qualifications and future examinations. Students need a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in Standard XII

SAT/ACT: Students need a SAT score of 1240 or an ACT score of 27

Student Essential Services

University of South Florida aims to offer a holistic study experience to students that has a balance of growth and University life. To this end, they have a wide range of services to help students get settled at the University, with basics like healthcare and accommodation as well as various student engagement and activities that can improve their overall experience.

The University of South Florida has a vibrant student life with more than 600 clubs and student organizations. Students have many options based on their interests to explore. The Marshall Student Centre is a place for students to eat, meet, and study. There are many activities for students to explore across the campus related to fitness, gaming, sports, and more.

Students can get help for their studies whether they are new or continuing students. Students also have access to academic advocacy services, where academic advocates help with students’ timely graduation. Students struggling with academics can receive direct outreach from an academic advocate to review their progress and advise them on better performance.

Students at USF have 3 types of accommodations. These include traditional style, suite style, and apartment style. In traditional style, students share a bedroom with a roommate with community bathrooms. In the suite, there’s a balance between independence and convenience. The bathrooms are only shared with suitemates. Students can get single or double occupancy suites.

The University is committed to offering specially abled students reasonable accommodation. The university has an accessible environment that is supported by students, staff and faculty.

Health and Wellbeing services at USF enable students to have access to affordable healthcare on campus if needed. The center provides clinical services for the psychological and physical needs of the student. They also provide services for women’s health, nutritional counselling and athletic training. The university also has labs and services for blood testing.

FAQ's

Students with an F-1 and J-1 passport may enter the US up to 30 days prior to the first day of the semester. Students are recommended to arrive to the university at least one week prior to the first day of the semester. This will give them time to attend the International Services check-in, the final orientation sessions, and also in avoiding late registration fees.

The College of Business programs are available only on the Tampa campus of University of South Florida.

No, separate application is not required for scholarships.

UG scholarships are awarded to academically competitive applicants based on USF GPA and Standardised Test scores in SAT/ACT test.
