The Institute offers a planned academic calendar with three distinct intakes. These Virginia Tech Language and Culture intakes align with Virginia Tech's semester system, ensuring a unified integration into the University's academic framework.
As the primary and most comprehensive intake, the Fall semester commences in late August and concludes in mid-December. This period accommodates most of the programs, including the AdvantageVT Pathway Program, Intensive English Program, and English Essentials. Students enrolling in the Fall benefit from a full-term experience.
Serving as a secondary admission period, the Spring semester spans from mid-January to early May. This intake is ideal for students seeking to commence their studies at the start of the calendar year. Programs available during this term include selected AdvantageVT Pathway Program, Intensive English Program, and English Essentials.
The Summer semester, running from late May to early August, offers select programs. While not all courses are available during this term, students can enroll in the Intensive English Program and English Essentials to enhance their language proficiency.
The Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute offers a range of programs, each with specific tuition structures designed to support international students in achieving their academic goals.
To secure a seat in the Advantage VT program, admitted students are required to pay a $500 deposit within 10 days of receiving their acceptance. This deposit ensures the student's place in the program and is applied toward the total Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute fees.
The Bursar's Office generates billing statements monthly, detailing the tuition and fees due. Full payment is required prior to the commencement of classes each semester.
