Intakes

Washington State University follows a structured bi-semester academic calendar, welcoming international students through Fall and Spring intakes, aligning with the broader schedule of higher education in the USA. These Washington State University intakes provide flexibility and accessibility for students pursuing various levels of study.

Starting in August, the Fall Intake offers the widest program availability. At the Undergraduate level, all programs across disciplines such as Engineering, Business, Communication, Agriculture, and the Arts are open for enrollment. Graduate programs predominantly accept Fall entrants, particularly in research-intensive and STEM fields. 

Starting in January, the Spring Intake is equally robust and suitable for students who need a later start. All Undergraduate programs remain open for Spring entry, allowing students to begin their studies in January without delay. At the Graduate level, most programs offer Spring admission, including popular fields like Computer Science, Business Analytics, Environmental Science, and Education. 

Cost of Studying at Washington State University

At Washington State University, tuition fees are competitively structured to offer excellent value without compromising on the quality of education. For Undergraduate & Graduate international students, the estimated annual tuition fee varies depending on the program. International students are required to pay an enrollment confirmation deposit to secure admission.  
 

WSU offers multiple payment options to ease the financial process. Students can make payments via electronic checks, credit cards, and international wire transfers through Flywire to cover their costs to study in the USA’s WSU.

Scholarships

Washington State University is dedicated to making higher education accessible and affordable for international students by offering a range of merit-based and need-based financial awards. For Undergraduate students, awards are based on GPA at the time of admission. No separate application is needed; students are automatically considered upon applying for admission. Admission Requirement

Washington State University welcomes talented and ambitious international students from across the globe by offering a transparent and supportive admissions process. Admissions decisions at WSU are made through a holistic review of each applicant’s academic achievements, English language proficiency, personal accomplishments, and readiness to thrive in a rigorous academic environment.  Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a cumulative GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Submission of GRE or GMAT scores is not required for entry into the pathway programs.

✅ TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 75 is needed. 
✅ IELTS: An overall band score of 6.5 is needed. 
✅ PTE: An overall score of 53 is needed.  
Duolingo English Test (DET): An overall score of 105 is needed. 

Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Submission of GRE or GMAT scores is not required for entry into the pathway programs.

✅ PTE: An overall score of 50 is needed. 
✅ Duolingo English Test (DET): An overall score of 95 is needed. 

✅ Completion of High School (12th Grade) with a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.

Submission of SAT or ACT scores is not required for undergraduate admission consideration

✅ TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 79 is needed. 
✅ IELTS: An overall band score of 6.5 is needed. 
✅ Duolingo English Test (DET): An overall score of 105 is needed. 
✅ PTE: An overall score of 56 is needed.
